EMPTY BOWLS PROJECT DINNER TICKETS STILL AVAILABLE

October 5, 2022 3:20 a.m.

Tickets are still available as Feeding Umpqua, a program of the United Community Action Network, has its Empty Bowls Project Dinner on Monday night.

The event will take place at the Joyce Morgan Food Distribution Center from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Those attending can select a handcrafted bowl that was created by a local craftsperson, and then enjoy a meal of soup and bread. At the end of the evening, they can keep their bowl as a reminder of all the empty bowls in the community or donate it back for future years.

Funds raised will support Feeding Umpqua, which distributes nearly two million pounds of food annually to over 40 food sites throughout the county. Every month, over 16,000 people receive food through those locations. Around a dozen local restaurants and businesses are participating and donating to the event.

Along with the meal, the evening will include art by Max Smoot and music by Blue Meridian.

Tickets are $25 per person in advance or $30 at the door. They can be purchased online at: www.ucanfillemptybowls.com or by calling 492-3508.
