PROCLAMATION PRESENTATION FOR NATIONAL FIRE PREVENTION WEEK

Douglas County Commissioners will host a special proclamation presentation for National Fire Prevention Week on Wednesday October 5th at 8:30 a.m.

A County government release said as part of the event, they will be celebrating the 100th anniversary of National Fire Prevention Week, honoring the 41st annual National Firefighters Memorial Week, and flipping the switch to kick off a salute to National Light the Night for Fallen Firefighters. This will take place on the front steps of the courthouse on Southeast Douglas Avenue.

Commissioners have invited all local fire agencies, including municipal, volunteer, protective, state, federal and wildland firefighters to join them for the presentation and ceremony. Residents are also welcome to attend and learn more about fire prevention safety, honor local fire heroes and pay tribute to those who perished in the line of duty.
