Roseburg City councilors continued looking at downtown parking issues at their meeting Monday night.

A synopsis said the council authorized staff to remove broken parking meters and to centralize the working meters. The council authorized $50,000 in American Rescue Plan Act funds be used to support the Off-Street Parking Fund. Councilors directed staff to conduct further research and provide options with financial information on: a parking utility fee on water meters, using an app-based program for parking services and permits, using multi-space meters, adjusting monthly fees and selling underutilized public permit parking lots. Councilors also received input from seven citizens who offered a variety of suggestions for changes to the downtown parking program.
