UMPQUA RIVER CLEAN UP IS SATURDAY

September 23, 2022 3:20 a.m.

Umpqua Watersheds and the Native Fish Society are leading the 38th annual Umpqua River clean-up day on Saturday.

Organizers say there is a lot of trash that needs to be removed before the high water comes. They are asking for volunteers to help clean up the shores of the river from the headwaters to the sea. Those helping can work as teams or individuals.

To help, take a trash bag to a nearby river area and pickup any trash that is seen. If assistance is needed, contact the head organizer Bob Hoehne at 679-7077. There are also coordinators for each section of the river. Their names and numbers are listed with this story at www.541radio.com

More information is available by contacting Umpqua Watersheds at 672-7065.
