UPCOMING STEWART PARK DRIVE BRIDGE CLOSURE

9/13/2022 11:00 a.m.

Officials with the City of Roseburg have announced that the Stewart Park Drive Bridge will be closed to vehicle traffic for two days next week to allow for inspection work.

During the planned closure on Tuesday, September 20th, and Wednesday, September 21st, the jade-green steel truss bridge known as the “Green Bridge” will be closed over the South Umpqua River.

The closure will last from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. both days while a contractor performs inspection work on the bridge.

According to the Roseburg Public Works Department, the 327-foot bridge was constructed from 1932 to 1933 to link Stewart Park to Fir Grove Park.

The informational release from the city today said the Stewart Park Drive Bridge should not to be confused with the larger, busier Stewart Parkway Bridge to the west of Stewart Park.

The Public Works Department said their staff appreciate drivers using patience and understanding during the closure.
