PUBLIC USE RESTRICTION LEVEL NOW EXTREME

The Douglas Forest Protective Association has increased the Public Use Restriction Level to EXTREME for all private, county, state and Bureau of Indian Affairs lands within the Douglas District.

The Roseburg District of the Bureau of Land Management is included in the fire season declaration, which imposes certain fire restrictions on the public and industrial operators to help prevent wildfires and have specific Fire Prevention Orders or other public use restrictions on the BLM administered lands.

At this time, the public lands within the Umpqua National Forest will remain in Public Use Restrictions Level 1.

Thursday as of 12:00 p.m. Industrial Fire Precaution Levels within the Douglas District will change to IFPL 4.

For the public: Non-industrial power saw usage, cutting, grinding or welding of metal, cutting, trimming or mowing of dried, cured grass and power-driven machinery for non-industrial improvement or development on private property is now prohibited.

For industrial operators: Under IFPL4, also known as a Complete Shutdown, no activities are permitted at any time. No waivers will be issued at this time.
