FIRES HEADING TOWARDS CONTAINMENT

August 21, 2022 1:30 p.m.  

Lightning caused fires on the Umpqua National Forest are heading towards containment.

Pam Sichting from the UNF provided an update on the remaining fires.

*Windy Creek-Incident 317 is approximately 1 acre and now contained. Firefighters will continue to monitor and patrol

*Steamboat Creek-Incident 318 located near the headwaters of Windy Creek on the divide between the Willamette and Umpqua National forests is approximately 1.6 acres. Crews continue to aggressively hold and mop up

*Camel Hump-Incident 312 located near and in the Boulder Creek Wilderness area is now being managed by Northwest Incident Management Team 10

Ground patrols and aerial detection flights are planned to search for any holdover or new starts.
