On Wednesday, the Douglas County Board of Commissioners issued a proclamation at their weekly business meeting calling upon all citizens of the county to observe National Farmers Market Week.

The proclamation, issued by Commissioner Chris Boice, said, “Douglas County recognizes the importance of expanding the agricultural and handcrafted marketing opportunities that assist and encourage the next generation of farmers, ranchers and artisans; generating farm and small business income to help stimulate business development and job creation, and building community connections through rural and urban linkages”.

Boice presented National Farmers Market Week proclamation certificates to representatives of the Umpqua Valley Farmers Market, the Myrtle Creek Farmers Market and the Glide Farmers Market.
