ELECTION FILING PERIOD OPEN WEDNESDAY

The election filing period for positions with the City of Myrtle Creek begins on Wednesday.

Two positions on the city council are due to expire at the end of the year, and will be voted on in the November General Election. These are position #2 and position #4, now held by Angie Cross and Kathi Otero, respectively. Also set to expire is the term for the office of Mayor, now held by Matthew Hald. New terms will run through the end of 2026.

Any qualified elector residing within the city limits who has been a resident for at least one year is eligible to run for office.

Forms will be accepted beginning at 8:00 a.m. at City Hall on Northwest Pleasant Street. The filing deadline is August 30th at 4:00 p.m.
