The Bureau of Land Management is looking at options to convert the E-Mile Day Use Site to an overnight campground with upgraded amenities and will have an open house at that site on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Cheyne Rossbach of the BLM said the agency has initiated a formal comment period for the project, which will run through September 5th.
Rossbach said the BLM project team will be available during the open house to discuss the current site, provide an overview of the proposal, and provide the public with an early opportunity to participate in the development of the proposed plan. There will not be a formal presentation and the public can attend at any time during the event to learn more about the project.
To get to the day use site from Roseburg, take Highway 138E towards Glide for 16.8 miles. Turn fight onto Little River Road and travel for 14.2 miles. The E-Mile Recreation Area is located on the right.
