Registration is underway for the Umpqua Strong Run/Walk being held on Saturday September 24th.

It was created in remembrance of the events of October 1st, 2015 on the campus of Umpqua Community College which claimed nine lives.

The event is presented by Northwest Community Credit Union with the help of a number of sponsors.

Options include a 9K and 5K run and walk, with a virtual option and a kid’s event as well. Registration through September 5th includes a shirt in the price. Registration after that does not. Umpqua Strong is held at Wildlife Safari beginning at 8:00 a.m. There is no packet pick up or bibs.

The event is $30. Proceeds go to charities selected by the families of the UCC victims. Last year, $12,000 was raised. To register or for more information, go to: https://umpquastrong.net/
