The Windigo Fire on the Umpqua National Forest was burning in 1,300 acres as of Sunday night.

Information from the Umpqua National Forest said suppression efforts are underway for the fire which began on Saturday afternoon. Part of the Pacific Crest Trail and Forest Road 60 in the area of the fire are now closed. A number of other Forest Service roads and trails are closed as well.

Crews are also dealing with a four-acre fire just north of Lemolo 1 forebay. There is also a one-half acre fire located northwest of that area.

A Type 2 incident management team has been ordered to manage these fires in addition to the Potter Fire on the Willamette National Forest. Additional firefighting resources are also on order. A Temporary Flight Restriction is in place over the fire areas.
