A pedestrian was taken to the hospital after an injury traffic crash early Thursday.
A report from Roseburg Police said at 3:30 a.m. the 58-year old allegedly walked into traffic on Northeast Diamond Lake Boulevard near Northeast Stephens Street and was struck by a sedan. An ensuing investigation revealed that the pedestrian failed to use the crosswalk, and that the driver didn’t see the man due to his dark clothing and the lighting conditions.
The pedestrian was transported to CHI Mercy Medical Center for minor injuries to his face. He was treated and released according to a hospital spokesperson. The man was cited for failure to yield to a vehicle. The sedan sustained a broken windshield and side-view mirror.
