COVID-19 cases in Douglas County are up 44 percent over the last week.

An update from the Douglas Public Health Network said 379 cases have been reported as of Wednesday. That compares to 263 the previous week. The county has not seen a weekly case count this high since the week of February 10th-16th. That was the tail end of the February Omicron surge. Case counts in the few weeks ahead of the week of February 10th were much, much higher, according to DPHN.

4 COVID-19 deaths in the county were reported in the past week. Since the pandemic began in January of 2020, 413 residents have died related to COVID-19.

As of Wednesday, 13 county residents were hospitalized, related to COVID-19. That number has ranged between 9 and 14 in the past week.
