POURING GENEROSITY HAPPENING THROUGH AUGUST

For the fifth year, the Umpqua Valley Winegrowers Association is partnering with Feeding Umpqua on a two-month campaign called Pouring Generosity.

Feeding Umpqua Manager Sarah McGregor said the goal of the campaign is to raise $15,000 to help support the Douglas County Emergency Food System. McGregor said participating wineries will generate donations in a variety of ways. That includes giving Feeding Umpqua their tasting fees or donating a set amount from each wine that is sold through the end of August.

McGregor said if the goal is reached, the organization will be able to provide nearly 10,000 meals for people in need. As part of the Oregon Food Bank statewide network, Feeding Umpqua has more buying power when it comes to food. For every dollar contributed, the organization can purchase three meals or roughly four to five pounds of food.
