Rev. Howard Johnson has been appointed Chairman of the Roseburg Public School’s Board of Directors.

Johnson takes the place of Director Rebecca Larson, who served as school board chair for the previous two school years. Johnson was voted in unanimously as chair at the board’s Wednesday night meeting.

Johnson said, “I look forward to this opportunity to serve the children, our district and our community in this role”.

A release said the board also voted unanimously to appoint Larson as vice-chair. Larson has been on the board since 2018.

Johnson has served on the board since 2015 and was vice-chair for the last school year.

Superintendent Jared Cordon said he is grateful to Larson and Johnson for taking on board leadership roles and for the entire board’s service.
