It was the second hottest day of the year in Roseburg on Monday, but the high fell short of the expectation.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service said the mercury reached 96 degrees at the Roseburg Regional Airport. The forecast high was 98 degrees. June 26th remains the hottest day of the year for Roseburg. That’s when it got to 100 degrees.

It was the hottest day of 2022 so far in Medford, with the high getting to 104 degrees. That was short of the expected afternoon high of 107 degrees.

Temperatures are slated to begin to cooling on Tuesday with Roseburg forecast to reach nearly 90 degrees while Medford gets to around 100 degrees.
