Fire fighters from the City of Roseburg Fire Department will take part in the annual Fill the Boot Drive to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association on Friday.

The International Association of Fire Fighters has collected funds since 1954 to help the non-profit organization.

Crews will hit the street with boots in hand asking pedestrians, motorists, customers and others passing by to donate to the MDA from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. They will be located at the corner of Northeast Stephens Street and Northeast Oak Street, and in the Rite-Aid parking lot nearby.

Scott Cooper from the RFD says most of the money stays local helping families that are impacted by the disease.
