A Roseburg man was jailed following an alleged stolen vehicle incident on Tuesday.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said at 3:40 p.m. a Winston officer located a vehicle that was reported stolen, near the corner of Harmony Drive and Ryland Drive in Green. A 32-year old man and a 37-year woman were observed getting into the vehicle and were contacted prior to leaving. Both were detained without incident.

The report said the woman admitted to being in the vehicle for two days, but said she knew nothing about it being stolen. The man said he got the sedan from a friend but that person denied the story. Then the suspect said he had been working on the vehicle and had been in it for the past three days. The man denied any involvement in any burglaries in the area.

The suspect was charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and for a parole violation. He was detained without bail. The woman was not cited.
