Roseburg Police have charged a man for the April 15th burglary of Casey’s Restaurant on Northwest Garden Valley Boulevard.

The RPD report said while 44-year old Jeremy Acree were being held in the Douglas County Jail on an unrelated matter, detectives charged him in the case. New charges include first and second-degree counts of burglary and aggravated theft and for second-degree criminal mischief.

In a post on the business’s Facebook page after the incident, owners Lance and Laurie Mounts said Casey’s lost around $40,000 in cash, all their computers, plus some technology items, tools and more. The post said the cash was the GoFundMe donations received for the company’s fight with Oregon OSHA, for alleged COVID-19 violations in 2020.

Acree is being held on $276,250 bail. RPD did not release any other information in the case.
