CITY COUNCIL TO INTERVIEW POTENTIAL NEW MEMBER

May 9, 2022 3:40 a.m.

The Roseburg City Council will interview a potential new member as part of its meeting Monday night, in the City Council Chambers.

Kylee Rummel is seeking to fill the Ward 1, Position 1 seat, recently vacated by Alison Eggers. Rummel is the Controller for the United Community Action Network. One other person had initially applied for the seat, but has since withdrawn their name from consideration. The appointment will be for the rest of this year, with the position up for election in November. Councilors can either vote to place Rummel on the council, or to seek additional applicants.

Mayor Larry Rich will issue proclamations for EMS Week and for National Public Works Week.

Councilors Andrea Zielinski, Sheri Moothart and Bob Cotterell were recently placed on the Roseburg City Charter Review Committee. Three citizen members are to be added to the committee. The councilors have interviewed three people seeking to be part of it. The three councilors will present their recommendation to the rest of the council.

Three department items are on the agenda as well.

The evening will begin with the interview of the potential council member at 6:45 p.m. The regular meeting is set to start at 7:00 p.m. It can be watched on the City’s Facebook page or viewed later at: www.cityofroseburg.org.
