Two days with a STEAM emphasis are coming to Umpqua Community College.

STEAM stands for science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics. Events will take place on Friday and Saturday May 13th and 14th.

An Arts and Humanities Showcase will happen that Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Hands-on activities exploring visual arts, music, theatre and journalism will be offered along with a free pizza lunch. The event is designed for those who are age-fourteen and older.

A STEAM Extravaganza will be held that Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Robotics and digital science activities will be offered along with a take-apart station, pipe organ construction, drones, steam table demonstration, earthquake simulator and more. There will be free food trucks with activities for all ages.
