One man was jailed and two people were cited following an alleged criminal mischief incident on Tuesday.

A Roseburg Police report said at 9:30 a.m. officers responded to the 500 block of Northeast Hewitt after a victim reported that several people were trying to steal her vehicle. The suspects reportedly broke a window on the victim’s vehicle prior to leaving the area. The victim said the suspects left in two vehicles.

Officers spotted the vehicles heading south on Northeast Stephens near Barnes. When officers tried to stop them, both vehicles failed to pull over and continued until stopping in a driveway in the 500 block of Northeast West. The first vehicle had a female passenger. She and the two drivers, both males, were detained without incident.

39-year old Terry Thomas was arrested on a warrant, and on charges of second-degree criminal trespass and for driving while suspended. He was detained on $10,000 bail. The female passenger was cited for third-degree theft for allegedly stealing the victim’s car keys. She was released after being cited. The second driver was cited for numerous traffic violations and was released.
