FREE BOAT SAFETY INSPECTION CLINICS OFFERED

Marine Deputies with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office have scheduled free boat safety inspection events on three upcoming Saturdays.

Lieutenant Brad O’Dell said the purpose of the event is to provide boaters the opportunity to have their pre-season safety inspections completed prior to boating season.

O’Dell said the inspection process will include checking for:

*Approved life jackets

*Working fire extinguishers

*Approved type IV floatation devices

*Approved sound producing equipment

*Working engine blower fan

*Assistance with the proper placement of registration numbers and stickers.

Upon passing the inspection, boaters will be provided with a 2022 inspection sticker.

Events will be held:

*Saturday May 7th from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Winston Bi-Mart

*Saturday May 14th from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Sutherlin Bi-Mart

*Saturday May 21st from 1:00 p.m.to 4:00 p.m. at the Douglas County Fairgrounds
