CLERK NOTES CHANGES IN ELECTIONS PROCEDURES

April 29, 2022 3:50 a.m.

With ballots in the mail and heading to local residents, Douglas County Clerk Daniel Loomis provided an update on a few changes to election procedures.

Due to House Bill 3291, ballots that were postmarked before the election deadline may arrive at the Clerk’s office for seven days after the election. Loomis said those taking their ballot to the Post Office on or near Election Day, should ask staff to stamp the ballot with a hand-cancellation stamp. There are also fifteen ballot-drop sites around the county. They are listed: https://douglascounty-oregon.us/179/Official-Drop-Site-Locations

Due to the redistricting process following the 2020 census, some residents may notice a difference in their Congressional, Senate and/or Representative district, or their voter precinct.
