GLIDE WILDFLOWER SHOW THIS WEEKEND

April 22, 2022 3:20 a.m.

The Glide Wildflower Show is back in-person after a two-year break and is happening this Saturday and Sunday.

Founded in 1965, the show is the largest display of native flora in the Pacific Northwest. Over 600 species of flowers, shrubs, grasses, ferns, lichen and mosses are gathered by dozens of collecting teams who travel around southwest Oregon from the Cascade Mountains to the coast.

The event will take place at the Glide Community Center from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. each day. Presenters will be giving talks about a number of topics. Native plants and books will be on sale as well. There will be a Wildflower Walk on the Wolf Creek Trail.

Organizers ask for a $3 per person donation from those attending. To find out more, go to www.glidewildflowershow.org or check out the organization’s Facebook page.
