MAINTENANCE INSPECTION TO CLOSE STEWART PARK DRIVE’S GREEN BRIDGE

April 20, 2022 10:20 a.m.

A maintenance inspection will result in the closure of the Stewart Park Drive Bridge to vehicle and pedestrian traffic on Thursday April 28th.

A City release said the Green Bridge will be closed over the South Umpqua River that day from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. while the Oregon Department of Transportation contractor performs inspection work. The bridge may open earlier in the day if the work is completed sooner than expected.

The 327-foot bridge, which was built in 1932 and 1933, links Stewart Park to Fir Grove Park and is not to be confused with the nearby Stewart Parkway Bridge.
