OHA statewide COVID-19 Thursday update

The Oregon Health Authority reported 20 new COVID-19-related deaths and 301 new confirmed and presumptive cases of COVID-19 on Thursday’s report.

The statewide report showed the total number of COVID-related deaths has grown to 7,033.

The OHA also announced the latest update on COVID-19 breakthrough cases. The report shows that the rate of COVID-19 in unvaccinated people last week was approximately 3.7 times higher than in vaccinated people.

Of the 1,990 cases reported to the OHA between March 13 and 19, 1,232 — or 61.9% — were unvaccinated people, while 750 were vaccine breakthrough cases.

Douglas County reported 10 new COVID-19 cases to OHA on Thursday. Multnomah County reported the highest case count, with 85.
