A 25-year-old Nashville woman was sent to the hospital after getting thrown from a vehicle during a two-car accident Tuesday evening in Roseburg.

The woman was reportedly a passenger in a car driven by Meaghan Whalen of Roseburg. According to Roseburg Police, Whalen was driving east on Southeast Oak Avenue when she failed to stop for a red light and collided with a car going north on Southeast Stephens Street around 4:30 p.m.

Whalen and her passenger were not wearing seat belts, according to the police, and the passenger was ejected from an open window as the car spun. She was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

The two occupants in the car that was hit did not receive medical attention on the scene, according to the police report.

Whalen was cited for failure to obey a traffic control device.
