Roseburg Fire begins hydrant flushing in April

The Roseburg Fire Department will begin flushing fire hydrants on April 1. The flushing program will continue seven days a week through the end of June.

RFD says hydrant flushing will be conducted from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and is necessary to ensure the proper functioning and delivery of adequate water from the water mains.

Hydrant flushing may cause low water pressure or discolored water. While the water is safe to drink, it might be preferred to wait until it runs clear before drinking or washing clothes and dishes.
