Power outages remain in parts of the Umpqua Valley following Saturday night’s windstorm.

As of 7:00 a.m. Sunday Pacific Power is reporting that around 1,100 customers are without power in Douglas County. That includes around 400 between east of Roseburg and Glide, over 300 around Glendale and nearly 150 in the Tiller area, along with scattered outages in other locations. Douglas Electric Cooperative reports about 40 customers without power. That is mainly in the upper Smith River area with a few in both Melrose and Cole Road.

Along with a loss of power, the storm had other impacts as well. Construction site fencing blew over in several locations in Roseburg and political campaign signs were strewn about.

The National Weather Service told News Radio 93-9 FM and 1240 KQEN that the peak wind gust at the Roseburg Regional Airport was 44 miles per hour at 8:11 p.m. That was accompanied by a heavy rain shower and reduced visibility. From 6:00 a.m. Saturday to 6:00 a.m. Sunday the airport received .071 inches of rain.

Saturday night the Oregon Department of Transportation advised travelers that wintry weather could cause issues through Sunday evening.
