The mercury hit 71 degrees at the Roseburg Regional Airport on Friday, making Roseburg the warmest place in Oregon, according to the National Weather Service.

Forecasters at the NWS told News Radio 93-9 FM and 1240 KQEN that while it was warmer than expected, the high was not a record for the date. It hit 79 degrees on March 11th in 1934. Periodic rain is in the Umpqua Valley forecast for the next several days.
