On Monday, Chairwoman Valynn Currie announced her resignation from the board of the Douglas County Republican Central Committee.

A release said Vice Chair Patrick Lewandowski will assume the position of Chair until such a time as an election can be held pursuant to county and state Republican bylaws.

Currie served on the board beginning in 2016. She starting serving as Chair in November of 2018. Currie said she will remain involved as a volunteer where ever she is needed. Currie recently announced her run for County Commissioner Position 2.
