The Roseburg Public Library will hold a Facebook Live event Thursday night with an investigative journalist.

Les Zaitz will discuss the former Rajnesshee community in north central Oregon in the 1980s. Now the publisher and editor of the Malheur Enterprise, Zaitz worked as a reporter for the Oregonian for 25 years. He was part of a team that investigated the religious sect for 18 months after the group took over the town of Antelope. 25 years later, he traveled oversees for in-depth interviews with the woman considered the mastermind – Ma Anand Sheela.

The virtual presentation will begin at 6:30 p.m. on the library’s Facebook page. A Facebook account is not required to participate.

The presentation will be followed by a question and answer time moderated by library staff. Questions can be submitted ahead of time at: lrathe@cityofroseburg.org. Viewers who have a Facebook account can submit questions during the event by commenting on the live stream.
