9 more people have died related to COVID-19 in Douglas County, 923 more people have received new positive test results, and 55 more are presumptive, as of Wednesday.
The Douglas County COVID-19 Weekly Update covered data between January 27th and Wednesday.
The new deaths include: A 55-year old man, a 56-year old man, an 81-year old man, a 79-year old man, and a 98-year old man. None were vaccinated.
Delayed deaths include: an 84-year old woman, a 93-year old woman, a 92-year old woman and a 79-year old woman. 2 were fully vaccinated and 2 were not vaccinated. Public health officials were notified of the delayed deaths by Oregon Vital Records this week.
The total number of cases is now at 18,008. Of those, 17,210 are people that have received positive test results and 298 are presumptive. 33 Douglas County COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, 26 locally and 7 outside the area. In the past week, CHI Mercy Medical Center averaged 3 COVID-19 positive patients in the Intensive Care Unit and 4 in the Progressive Care Unit. 24 of the 33 hospitalized patients are not fully vaccinated.
