A Winston Police report said just after 12:15 a.m. an officer attempted to stop a driver for a traffic violation. The motorist fled at a high rate of speed, disregarding several traffic signs. A pursuit began and continued through Dillard and onto Kent Creek Road. It concluded several miles up a Bureau of Land Management road in the Kent Creek area, when the road came to an end.
The report said the vehicle was said to be stolen out of the Salem area several days prior. The driver was identified as 35-year old Bryan Lyon. The suspect was charged with attempting to elude a police officer in a vehicle, possession of a stolen vehicle, recklessly endangering another person and reckless driving. Bail was set at $100,000.
The female passenger in the vehicle had a warrant out for her arrest and was also taken to jail.
