January 31 9:20 a.m.
A trooper with the Oregon State Police responded to a disturbance along Interstate 5 near the Harvard Avenue exit on Friday.
The OSP report said the incident was called in just after 7:20 p.m. on the side of the northbound onramp. While a trooper was headed to the scene, a passerby allegedly got involved, leading to a second disturbance between the passerby and the male half of the original domestic incident.
The report said when the trooper arrived the male half was gone and the female half was uncooperative and very intoxicated. While the trooper was interviewing the woman, the man involved came back. He said the pair was having an argument when the woman had tried to grab the steering wheel. He then intentionally drove into the bushes to keep the woman was trying to steer.
The report said no one was injured and it was difficult to determine what had actually taken place. The woman was given a ride home.
The case will be referred to the District Attorney’s Office.
