A Myrtle Creek man was jailed after allegedly eluding police on foot, on Friday.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said at about 11:20 a.m. a deputy stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation in the 100 block of Southwest 4th Avenue in Myrtle Creek. The driver bailed on foot and the deputy chased the suspect to near Mill Site Park. The suspect stopped when the deputy caught up. The man was held at taser point until a second deputy arrived.

The report said the suspect, 40-year old Corey Morris, was allegedly found to be in possession of about 5.5 grams of methamphetamine and 1 gram of heroin. He also had 4 warrants for his arrest. Morris was charged with eluding on foot, third-degree escape, unlawful possession of meth, and a violation amount of heroin, along with a probation violation. Morris was held without bail.

A 39-year old female passenger reportedly had violation amounts of meth in her possession and was cited and released.
