Douglas County Commissioners and the county’s Parks Department have announced that they will be reopening the Windy Cove Crab and Fishing Dock on Saturday.

The facility, on Salmon Harbor Drive in Windy Cove County Park in Winchester Bay, will be available to the public one month ahead of schedule.

A release said the dock was temporarily closed at the start of the year in order to undergo necessary infrastructure repairs and annual preventative maintenance. The original closure notice projected the closure would last under the end of February. Crews were able to efficiently expedite and complete the repair and maintenance project because of favorable weather conditions in January that resulted in no weather delays.
