Dr. Sami Al-Abdrabbuh, Chair of the Corvallis School Board, has announced his candidacy for Congress to replace outgoing Representative Peter DeFazio.

Dr. Al-Abdrabbuh says he has the endorsement of a number of leaders from the Corvallis and Albany area. He said, “All my life, I have been solving problems. As an engineer, teacher, student leader at OSU and community leader, I have always focused on bringing people together to get things done”. Dr. Abdrabbuh said he will continue doing that by “…working to ensure the people of Oregon’s 4th Congressional district have universal health care, free education for all, a Green New Deal and an economy that works for everyone, not just the wealthy”.

Dr. Al-Abdrabbuh said with Peter DeFazio leaving, “…Oregon is losing one of its greatest elected officials”. He said over the last 35 years, DeFazio has laid the foundations for a better Oregon and he is ready to build on them “…to improve our great state even more”.
