AIR STAGNATION ADVISORY THROUGH 10:00 A.M. TUESDAY

January 17, 2022 3:50 a.m.

An Air Stagnation Advisory is in effect until 10:00 a.m. Tuesday for central Douglas County and much of the surrounding area.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service said poor air quality is expected. Stagnant conditions will trap smoke and other air pollutants near the ground where people breathe.

The Advisory area also includes Josephine and Jackson counties and eastern Curry County.

Forecasters said air stagnation is likely to result in diminishing air quality with time, especially in and near areas with significant sources of air pollution. Diminished air quality is likely to cause health issues for people with respiratory problems if precautions are not taken.

State air quality agencies highly recommend that no outdoor burning occur and that residential wood burning devices be limited as much as possible.
