Congressman Peter DeFazio has announced his endorsement of Oregon Labor Commissioner Val Hoyle to serve as the next member of Congress in the 4th District.

DeFazio said, “I’ve thought a lot about the race to succeed me in the 4th Congressional District. We need someone who has progressive values and a proven track record of results. We need someone with deep roots in this district, who knows this district and has put in the work for our communities”.

DeFazio said someone is needed who can win tough races. He said the district is already heavily targeted by Republicans for takeover and a candidate is needed who can hold the seat in November.

DeFazio said, “That’s why I’m strongly endorsing Val Hoyle as the candidate in the 4th Congressional District”.

Hoyle said it was a “…tremendous honor” to have DeFazio’s endorsement. She said both she and DeFazio are fighters “…who put working people first”. Hoyle said she’ll work a hard as she can to continue DeFazio’s “…legacy of leadership”, both in Oregon and in Washington D.C.
