COMMISSIONER FREEMAN APPOINTED TO TWO BOARDS

January 12, 2022 3:35 a.m.

Douglas County Commissioner Tim Freeman has been appointed to two boards.

A release from county government, said Freeman has picked up one of only two seats from Oregon on the Western Interstate Region Board of Directors, which is a subset of the National Association of Counties. In addition, Freeman is now on the 2022 Association of Oregon Counties Board of Directors. The appointments were recently announced by Gina Firman Nikkel, the Executive Director of AOC.

The release said responsibilities will include testifying or speaking before state, regional and national legislative committees, conferences and meetings in order to advance AOC counties’ policy and legislative priorities, especially during the next few months as the Oregon State Legislature convenes for its 2022 Legislative Session. This work will be done in addition to and in concert with the work Commissioner Freeman does as a Douglas County Commissioner, according to the release.
