HAYDEN FILES FOR NEWLY-CONFIGURED SENATE DISTRICT

January 11, 2022 3:30 a.m.

State Representative Cedric Hayden has filed to run for the newly-configured Senate District 6 seat in the Oregon State Legislature.

The Fall Creek Republican said the district is compromised of many of the Lane County communities he currently represents including Cottage Grove, Oakridge and Creswell. Hayden said the new district also adds other Lane County communities, while drawing in significant communities in Linn County, such as Lebanon, Brownsville and Shed. Hayden’s House district is now an open seat election, and with the redistricting changes, no longer includes areas in Douglas County.

Hayden, a dentist whose clinical practice has focused on serving Oregon’s Medicaid and special needs populations, as well as charitable dentistry in low-income nations, said the Senate’s slower, more deliberative legislation process is a key motivation for his Senate run.

Hayden will talk about his campaign on the Morning Conversation Friday at 8:30 a.m. on News Radio 1240 KQEN.
