A section of Main Street under the Scottsburg Bridge in Scottsburg is now open again, after having been closed since last year.
Dan Latham from the Oregon Department of Transportation said all residents will now be able to use the street to reach Oregon 38.
Latham said this will allow contractors to close a short section of Scottsburg West Road near the highway as they continue work on the north end of the new bridge for the next few months. Flaggers will provide traffic control on Main Street and Scottsburg West Road as needed. Delays should be brief.
Latham said traffic on Oregon 38 will not be affected by this work.
This project will replace the 1929 Scottsburg Bridge on a new alignment downstream of the old structure. Construction began in early 2020 and the new bridge is expected to be open this summer.
