Staff with the American Red Cross said help is needed during January, which is National Blood Donor Month.

A release said the organization is facing a national blood crisis – the worst blood donor shortage in over a decade – posing a concerning risk to patient care. The Red Cross has already been experiencing about a 10 percent decline in the number people donating blood since the pandemic began.
