STATE BREAKS HIGHEST DAILY COVID-19 CASE TOTAL FOR THIRD REPORT IN A ROW

Wednesday’s report on COVID-19 cases in Oregon shows that the state broke the highest daily case total for the third report in a row.

COVID-19 has claimed 9 more lives, raising the state’s death toll to 5,719, as of Wednesday. An update from the Oregon Health Authority reported 6,203 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the state total to 441,648. The previous highest daily case total was Tuesday, when 4,540 cases of COVID-19 were reported.

OHA said the number of hospitalized patients with COVID-19 in Oregon is 523, which is 13 more than on Tuesday. There are 108 COVID-19 patients in intensive care unit beds, which is 3 fewer than on Tuesday.

The new cases include:

*1,268 in Multnomah County

*716 in Deschutes County

*594 in Clackamas County

*518 in Lane County
