ROSEBURG LIBRARY HOSTING FACEBOOK LIVE EVENT ON THURSDAY NIGHT

January 5, 2022 11:00 a.m.

The Roseburg Public Library will host a Facebook Live event with local author Pat Sherman on Thursday night.

Sherman will discuss her new book “American Tapestry” beginning at 6:30 p.m.

A release said the book spans the years between 1746 and 1934. It is described as “a ride through American history alongside a “middling” family of community leaders”.

The release said writing is a new departure for Sherman. After uncovering an ugly truth about her grandfather’s history, she felt compelled to come to terms with the disparity between flattering biological sketches and the reality of her family’s past. The quest for answers and the question “How could this be?” is what led Sherman to write “American Tapestry”.

Copies of the book are available through the library.

The event will be livestreamed at https://www.facebook.com/roseburglibrary. A Facebook account is not required.

Questions for Sherman can be submitted before the event at: lrathe@cityofroseburg.org or by calling 492-7052. Viewers who have a Facebook account can post questions during the event by commenting on the live stream.

Library Director Kris Wiley talked about the event on the Morning Conversation Wednesday on News Radio 1240 KQEN. That interview is a KQEN Podcast at www.541radio.com.
