CAMAS VALLEY MAN ARRESTED FOR REPORTED DISORDERLY CONDUCT

A Camas Valley man was arrested for a reported disorderly conduct incident on Tuesday.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said shortly after 7:30 a.m. deputies were dispatched following information that a man was walking with a shotgun in the area of the 300 block of South Camas Road, near the grange. When deputies arrived on the scene, the suspect was contacted and detained in handcuffs.

The 63-year old said the shotgun was just up the road near a ditch. The weapon was located. The man said that he had been attempting to find the people that were stealing stuff from his property. The suspect was walking in the direction of Camas Valley Charter School when he was taken into custody.

The report said the shotgun had ground serial numbers on it. The man was charged with altering identification on a firearm, second degree disorderly conduct and for unlawful possession of methamphetamine. 1.5 grams of the drug were allegedly located on his person.

Bail was set at $52,500.
