2 MORE DEATHS, 309 NEW POSITIVE TEST RESULTS, 27 MORE PRESUMPTIVE

2 more people have died related to COVID-19 in Douglas County, 309 more people have received new positive test results, and 27 more are presumptive, as of Wednesday.

The Douglas County COVID-19 Update covered data reported from December 30th through Wednesday.

The newly reported deaths include:

*A 67-year old woman who was diagnosed with COVID-19 on December 11th and passed away on Monday. She was not vaccinated.

*An 83-year old man who was diagnosed with COVID-19 on November 15th and passed away on Saturday. He was partially vaccinated.

No delayed reports of deaths were received by local health officials this week.

The total number of cases is now at 14,558. Of those, 14,000 are people that have received positive test results, and 558 are presumptive. 17 Douglas County COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, 13 locally and 4 outside the area. In the past week, CHI Mercy Medical Center averaged 3 COVID-19 positive patients a day in the Intensive Care Unit and 3 COVID-19 positive patients in the Progressive Care Unit. 15 of the 17 hospitalized patients are not fully vaccinated.
